New cards with local scenes

I've just been taking photos down at Tannum Sands Beach and Wild Cattle Creek and have sources some excellent 100% post consumer recycled cardstock. So some new cards will be in the Pod Shop this week with these photos on them... aren't we Tannum and Boyne people lucky to have such a beautiful beach!

Glass tile pendants and a set of cats!

I just made another set of cats as the first one was only in the shop for 5 mins (Hmmm, wonder who bought that?) These ones are lucky to be wearing scarves from the Amy Butler Daisy Chain line of fabric. I also made a few new glass tile pendants and here are some of them...

A few new things.....

Inspired by a regular visitor to my shop I have been making a few 'cat' things..... and an owl and a bird thing too on some old book pages, and of course more Chiyogami butterflies. Also some new glass tile pendants ... it's been a productive week - a break from the sewing machine and doing something different.

P.S. Don't buy a scrapbooking frame in raw timber planning to paint it then realise the glass doesn't come out, spend ages removing it and painting it, putting the beading back in the wrong way, using clamps to glue it in and wrecking your paint job on the frame, resanding and painting edges of frame and then paint it again... OK?

New Clutch purses

I tried out my usual zippered clutch purse in some 'evening' style fabrics for something different. These are embroidered black velvet on one side and these purses have wadding to give them a more luxurious feel. One is a pink and black retro circles design and the other is pure silk from South Sulawesi, Indonesia. I bought a big piece of it in 1993 when I went to visit my foster child. There was an amazing shop called Aneka Sutra, or somethng like that, and it had floor to ceiling shelves of silk fabric, amazing, wish I could go there again, but it's not the sort of place you just pop over to easily! These purses are in the Pod Collective Shop at Boyne Island

Headbands

I've just made up a heap of fabric headbands - they fit kids and adults. I've just done a batch of pinks and black and white and next is greens/blues. There are two widths - 5cm and 10cm. With 5 tubs of fabric to choose from it's lots of fun choosing which pieces to use! These are only $7.95 for the 5cm width and $9.95 for the 10cm width.

Pod Collective Market Shop at Boyne Island

Last weekend we rearranged our shop - it was very exciting as it now looks even better! We just need to let more people know we are there! So many people are coming in and saying "how long have you been here, we didn't know you were here" so we are planning to get some flyers printed and deliver them (ourselves of course, what better way to exercise??) so everyone in the Boyne and Tannum areas knows about our shop. We think we really brighten up the Boyne Plaza and the smell of the soy candles drifts right through the centre, people say they can smell them as soon as they walk in the doors. We have a constantly changing display of our products with new things coming all the time. We now have some shadowboxes with paper cuts, cool badges, evening bags and fascinators - come to us for your Melbourne cup accessories! We also have some new handmade patchwork baby blankets with fleece on one side, clothing and lots of beautiful sun catchers. There is new jewellery - rings and hand made glass tile pendants and I have just made a new range of purses which are a small coin purse size with a wrist strap, the right size for carrying your change when you go walking or a great size to keep in a school bag. So if you are local, please come and see our shop! You don't need to drive into Gladstone to buy gifts, come and get something locally handmade. We are open Friday from 9-5 and Sat from 9-2.30.
