I have just had some badges made and they will soon be available on my online shop (coming very soon) and at the Pod Collective Market Place shop. I love them and can't wait to get them...

These are some dolls I have made, I love making these, they have their own satchel bags and designer fabric dresses, they even have groovy underwear! I hope to have quite a few made by the St Francis Market Day..

Painting

this is a painting I did of the kids playing at 1770

Collages & Shadowboxes

I've made some more collages this week. Thanks to everyone who has been coming into the shop and buying my collages, I keep running out! But I love making them, gives me a good reason to go to Bindaree (local op shop) and find all those old book treasures. My favourite find this week is 'The Poetry of William Wordsworth', 1965 edition with suitably yellowed pages and a musty smell, just right to be turned into a collage - and all for the bargain price of 50c.
I also made 2 of these shadow boxes with some red and black Japanese Yuzen paper butterflies, they look very oriental and I am hoping someone will want to take them home, as I want to make more of them.....

My online shop is coming along well, hopefully it will be ready to go in a couple of weeks, it's a lot of work setting it up, even with a web designer doing most of it!
I'm also excited as I am having some very groovy badges made to put on my felt purses and to sell in sets of 3. They are being made in Newcastle by Anorak Designs - if you ever go to Newcastle you have to check out the shop 'Blackbird Corner' in Darby St - an awesome shop with heaps of interesting stuff.

bits and pieces

An ipod and phone purse made from that beautiful hand dyed wool I am currently obsessed with.
An mother and baby elephant made from decorative and Japanese paper

This is a collage I did a while ago, but I just added the flower and the crystals in the centre. I like this one, it's a print of a lino cut I did on calico then stitched it on the machine to some brown paper.

Felt and Wool

back of purse

front of purse

Lately I've had a bit of an obsession with 100% hand dyed wool and wool felt. The hand dyed wool is available from Gladstone Fabrics and is amazingly soft and beautiful with a huge range of gorgeous colours. I've been making some ipod and mobile phone purses with felt and embellishing with felt, buttons and wool fabric.

Soon I will have some very groovy badges, I will be selling mobile phone purses that come with your choice of badge (from the Pod Collective Market Place shop).
This week has been a very creative one for me, making new things and planning new products, and in anticipation of my online shop which should be up and running fairly soon, just working on the design now.
I also made another purse/wallet from a book 'The Poky Little Puppy'. My friend Jacqui was telling me about her fave page in the book so I was lucky to find a copy of the book at Bindaree, our local op shop for the bargain price of 10c! We seriously have the best op shop ever here!
The best things about this week have been spending Tuesday morning at Gladstone Marina with all the Prep kids. Having lunch with two lovely ladies at Chattin Cafe but wishing another lovely lady could have been there too. I've been enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having at the moment, perfect to sit on the front porch with a coffee or a green tea (and trying not to have the cake too) in the sun (and avoiding the magpie that is a bit too friendly and wants whatever I have got on my plate).

Here a some rough photos of some of my felt and wool purses and a couple of previews of some of the badge designs I'm getting made.

Cats and dolls

I made this set of 3 cats in a basket, inspired by a certain person who gave me the pattern and who REALLY loves cats....

I also made up this cute doll, she is awake on one side and asleep on the other and her name is Sally. She has her own market bag and she is wearing her favourite red dress... She is going to the Pod Collective Market Shop today and hopes someone will want to take her home.

Altas and Storybook wallets

These wallets are made from old atlas and children's storybook pages. Both sides are covered in PVC and close with a velcro strip so your coins won't fall out. The smaller ones are also great for your phone or ipod. A unique recycled product that is great for a gift and only $12.50 at the Pod Collective Market Place shop.

Little friends

Here are some little monster friends I've had lots of fun making. Most of them are made from pure wool felt with a designer fabric on the back and they are all named. They have a tag with their name and a little bit about their characteristics and personality. They are nice and soft with no removable parts and are approx 25cm high and 18cm wide.
