Pics of Pegs

Here are some pics of the "Precious Pegs" magnets I've made so far. Some are covered in Japanese fabric and some with Yuzen paper.

Precious Pegs and a lovely lunch

I have been further inspired by these Japanese papers and fabrics so have starting making fridge magnets out of wooden pegs. I cover one side with either a piece of Yuzen paper or fabric, then paint the other side gold and put a magnet on the back. The magnets I'm using have a pull strength of 984g so you could hang some serious stuff from them! I'm also going to make pegs like this without the magnets which could be used to hang photos on a nice piece of cord or ribbon in your room, or hang up childrens' paintings. The possibilities are endless, just like the number of things I can find to use Yuzen paper for!
I also went out for lunch today with 5 other art minded people who all make lots of great things including, pottery, candles, clothes, photography and paintings and designs for kids and adults. What a great bunch of people to have lunch with, we were like peas in a pod. You will soon find out the meaning of this .............

New stuff that arrived today

Today was great as I received 4 packages in the mail with fabric, paper and jewellry making supplies! I now have a big bowl of pendants to decorate, lots of Japanese fabric and some new beautiful papers so I can't wait to start using them all. Here are a few samples of what I got.

Artwork and logo for Ruby Lime design

I have to put in a special thanks to my friend Michelle who designed my logo for my business cards and the banner on my shop. I am really happy with it and love the colours and the design. I am lucky to have such a talented friend! If you are looking for some beautiful art for your kids room have a look at Michelle's gallery at sprout gallery. The link is under 'My Favourite things' or go to www.sproutgallery.com . It's great to have a friend who can understand my excitement about a new paper, card design or piece of fabric!

First blog

Hi there, well I just registered my business name for my art, cards and jewellry and am now Ruby Lime design. I will soon be opening a new etsy shop under this name and start putting things on there.

Since I recently went to Newcastle for a week I saw so many great things that inspired me to be creative again (after a semester of studying how to teach listening to second language learners). So I am now back into making lots of things.... cards, collages, and jewellry out of recycled bits and pieces. There is not enough time in the day to do everything I want to do!
